A 4K Blu-ray player with HDR10 Plus, HDR10, and HLG, plus Panasonic HCX chroma processing and an HDR Optimizer. It has a single HDMI output, a wired LAN connection, and Hi-Res audio support. It has no Wi-Fi, no Dolby Vision, no streaming apps, and no analogue audio output. The only controls on the player itself are eject and power.

What to check before you buy

• Check that a single HDMI output and no Wi-Fi fit your setup, because there is no wireless option here.
• Region codes assume a US buyer, Region A Blu-ray and Region 1 DVD, so check your discs match before you buy.
• Check that you do not need Dolby Vision. This model does not have it.
• Some buyers reported freezing after about an hour and forty minutes, some 4K discs not being recognized, and players stopping after about ten months, so test it with your longest discs early.
• The remote is small and gets poor reports, so keep it handy and check it works from your seat.
• A black screen is sometimes a bad HDMI cable, not the player, so try a known good cable first.
