DBPOWER 11.5 Inch Portable DVD Player, CHY-9

What it is

An 11.5 inch portable DVD player with a 9 inch swivel screen at 800 by 480, which rotates 270 degrees and flips 180 degrees. It has a headrest mount, it can sync to a TV by AV, and it has a built in 2500mAh battery with a claimed five hours of play, plus a car charger and AC adapter. It is region free, and it plays CD, DVD, CD-R and RW, DVD-R and RW, VCD, and SVCD, with USB and SD up to 32GB for MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG, MPEG2, AVI, and DIVX files. It does not play Blu-ray discs. It has dual speakers, a 3.5mm earphone jack, last memory, and a remote.

Who it is for

For road trips and back seat viewing, or for a bedroom or kitchen with no TV, where a small player with its own screen is enough.

What to check before you buy

• Check the sound. Buyers said it is not very loud, with a volume max of 20, so plan on headphones for noisy cars.
• Check the battery. Some buyers reported it stopping holding a charge, and some reported freezing, so test it on battery before a long trip.
• The remote sensor sits on top, so the remote does not work well in headrest mode, and the mount can press the buttons, so check the mount fit first.
• Buyers praised the picture, the value, and the portability, so it is a solid cheap travel player if you go in knowing its limits.

Why it pairs with used media

Our DVDs are made for watching anywhere, and this is the player that takes them on the road, in the car, or to a room with no TV at all.
