Who it is for

For someone who wants to watch Blu-ray discs away from the living room TV, and who is willing to pay more for the only portable Blu-ray option in our list.

What to check before you buy

• Check the battery. Buyers reported real life use closer to a couple of hours, not four to five, so plan on a charger for long trips.
• Check the sound. Buyers called it weak and tinny, with no bass or treble control, so plan on headphones.
• Some buyers reported it stopping working, or not playing a Blu-ray it had played before, so test it with your discs early and keep the 365 day replacement in mind.
• To use last memory, remove the disc before you turn it off, per the tip in the product pages we read.
• The shell gets called flimsy, and some buyers said for this money you might as well get a laptop, so be honest with yourself about whether you need a portable Blu-ray player or just a bigger screen.

Why it pairs with used media

Our Blu-ray discs are the best looking discs we sell, and this is the only player in our list that takes them portable, so it is here for the folks who want Blu-ray on the go.
