WONNIE 12 Inch Dual Car DVD Players, W-1106D

What it is

Two 12 inch car DVD players that play the same movie through an AV cable, or two different movies independently. They mount with brackets and headrest straps, and discs change through a clamshell lid. They play all region DVDs, DVD+R and RW, DVD-R and RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD, and SVCD, with USB up to 32GB for JPG, JPEG, MP3, WMA, VOB, AVI, MPEG-1, and MPEG-2 files, at video up to 720 by 576. They do not play Blu-ray discs, MP4 files, or Bluetooth audio. Each unit has dual stereo speakers and a headphone jack. Volume is press and hold VOL Plus and VOL Minus, while a short press is fast forward and rewind. Battery runs up to five hours separately, or about two and a half hours synced, with an AC adapter and a 2-in-1 car charger for 12V only. They sync to a TV or projector by RCA, and they have last memory and a 365 day replacement promise.

Who it is for

For a family car with two kids in the back who do not agree on a movie, or for long drives where one screen is never enough.

What to check before you buy

• Check your car. The charger is 12V only, and the charging cord is short for second row installs in SUVs, so measure before you order.
• Check the install. The bracket instructions get poor reports, the spacer rings are different sizes, and an install video helps, so watch it first.
• Check the viewing angle. The picture is narrow, so the screens need to be level with the viewer.
• Some buyers reported about one hour of battery only, and one reported a unit stopping after four months, so test both units early.
• Volume is press and hold, not a short press, so learn that before the first drive.

Why it pairs with used media

Our family DVDs are made for car rides, and two screens that can split means two kids can watch two different movies from our bins on the same trip.
