ProcareSelect Disc Cleaning and Repairing Kit PRO

What it is

A motorized disc cleaning and repairing device with an integrated storage drawer. A blue pad plus cleaning fluid handles regular cleaning. A three step reconditioning pass uses a pink buffing pad, then a yellow pad plus repair fluid, then a blue pad plus cleaning fluid. It cleans CD, DVD, Blu-ray, data, game, and music discs, and it is made to repair most surface scratches on DVD and CD discs that cause skipping, freezing, or failure to play. Resurfacing leaves a radial pattern on the disc, which the maker says is normal.

Who it is for

For someone with a stack of lightly scratched discs, especially used games and movies, who wants to save discs that a player will not read.

What to check before you buy

• Check the scratches first. This works on light scratches, and it does not fix moderate to deep scratches. Some buyers reported discs made worse, with circular scratches, haze, or discs still unreadable.
• Expect it to be loud in use, and expect a learning curve on the three step pass.
• The pads and liquid are good for about fifty uses, and a refill pack is available, so count that as part of the cost if you plan to use it a lot.
• Some buyers revived a good share of unreadable games with it, and some got nothing back, so treat it as a rescue tool, not a guarantee.

Why it pairs with used media

We sell used discs, and used discs get scratched. This is the kit for the discs that are worth saving but will not play as they are.
